From Duong Dong Town head north towards Thom Village. After about 5km’s of travel there should be a junction near Duong To Village, which is a small village close to Duong Dong Town. Make a left at the junction and travel for another 2km’s down a red dirt road and you will reach the stream. The road to Fairy Stream is not well developed and the only way to get there is by motorbike or mountain bike.
These red soil streets will lead you come to pepper garden as well as small houses and school. You could make friend with forests, mountains and murmur streams.
What to see:
- Nature – The natural surroundings is quite nice and peaceful. Explore the area and you may find wild orchids, ginseng, and even myrtle fruit trees.*This area is abundant with the sim myrtle fruit tree and during harvesting season (December to February), locals gather here and pick the fruit to either resell or make their own sim wine.
What to do:
- Picnic – Pack a lunch and have a picnic on top of one of the giant flat boulders.
- Soak – You can soak in the stream to cool off, however you cannot swim as the water level is too low.
Need to know:
Local residents use the stream as a water source and for bathing/soaking. It is not as spectacular as Tranh Stream and definitely “off the beaten path” however if you enjoy exploring natural landscapes then this place may be perfect for you. The surrounding area is teeming with beautiful plants and small animals. If you have only a few days on the Island then we suggest you save the Fairy Stream for another time.
