Vong Beach Phu Quoc
Vong Beach (Bai Vong) is an industrial beach located on the eastern side of Phu Quoc Island just south of Ham Ninh Village and about 8kms away from Doung Dong Town. This beach is near the ferry terminal that takes you to Ha Tien & Rach Gia.
Vong Beach In Phu Quoc Island
Vong Beach is very narrow located near the ferry terminal that is lined with palm and poplar trees. The ocean is relatively shallow here making it safe for non swimmers and children alike, but you probably do not want to swim here. With the development of two ferry piers (additional piers being constructed as of 2014), there has been a rise of economic activity in the area this has had a negative impact on the beach and the sea. The mountainous ocean jungle scenery is much more pleasant than the actual beach.
Much to our disappointment some of the shoreline and the sea is quite dirty with trash and spilled oil.
Depending on the season, expect to see a lot of jellyfish in the water. You can safely observe them while standing on the pier and looking down into the ocean. There are also snakes and other reptiles present along the forested area just behind the beach. Locals have advised us that there are macaques in the mountainous areas near the southern part of Vong Beach.
What To See & Do
- Sunsets & Sunrise: Besides walking along the beach you can go to the either of the two piers here and take in the break taking scenery. The sunsets and the sunrises on the pier are quite magical with the sky lighting up in various shades of red, pink purple, and orange.
- Fishing: Grab a fishing rod, a hook, and some bait (shrimp or small squid) and fish off the piers. It is a great activity to do while watching the sunset.
- Anchovy Processing: You can visit a local anchovy processing plant nearby.
Where To Eat & Drink
- There are a few local restaurants that sell a variety of seafood dishes, Vietnamese traditional food such as pho bo and com tam, and various snacks. You can also purchase local snacks off of vendors on the pier.

How To Get Here
It is quite easy to get to Vong Beach from Doung Dong Town as all the roads are paved. Just head towards Ham Ninh Village and then make a right at the roundabout near “Lenny’s Cafe”. This road is called National Highway 46 and it will take you all the way to An Thoi Town. Just 300 meters from the roundabout you will see a large paved road on your left hand side that takes you to Vong Beach and the ferry terminal.
